Birds With No Boundaries

- A Flute and Dance Performance for Kids -

    "Migrating Maggie", the audience's tour guide, is an Arctic Tern who migrates the entire circumference of the world - 25.000 miles - each year. Traveling freely over the boundaries of "us humans", Migrating Maggie takes the audience around the world to meet :
  • Indian Peacocks
  • Turkish Parakeets
  • Antarctic Penguins
  • Japanese Cranes
  • Mexican Swallows
  • African Woodpeckers
... and a hummingbird from Takoma Park.

    Children learn about:
  • the different birds
  • the music and
  • the stories of the different cultures.
   Children dance in the flight patterns of swallows, call like a pilated woodpecker, and chant rhythms like a woodpecker's pecking.
