Meryl Shapiro has been teaching dance extensively in the Washington area. She received a BA degree in dance from the University of Maryland and her MA in dance from George Washington University.  Her choreography has been seen in concerts and showcases at:

   Meryl has trained extensively in all disciplines of dance in Washington, New York and other cities.  She continues to study ballet at the Washington Ballet and other disciplines of dance at dance festivals.   She has taught Ballet, Creative Dance, Jazz, and Aerobics at Montgomery College and the Ballet Center for Adults and Children. Meryl has a Pilates certification from Physicalmind.  She has performed with:

    Meryl hopes to bring the community together in sharing her joy of dance in its many forms. The Dance Addition of Takoma Park is now in its 14 th year. We present all of our classes in an annual Spring Performance and participate in the DC Youth Dance festival.
